VOIP Specialist – Job Description:
A VOIP Specialist is responsible for managing and maintaining Voice Over IP communication solutions. Their duties include the following:
• Setting up and configuring VOIP systems such as Cisco Call Manager or Asterisk.
• Maintaining communication networks to ensure high audio quality and reduce latency.
• Troubleshooting and resolving issues with VOIP systems.
• Integrating VOIP systems with traditional telephone systems (PSTN).
• Ensuring security in voice communication systems by setting up firewalls and encrypted protocols (such as SIP TLS and SRTP).
Required Skills:
- Knowledge of protocols: SIP, RTP, H.323.
- Experience with VOIP systems: such as FreePBX, Asterisk, Cisco Call Manager.
- Strong understanding of networking: TCP/IP, QoS, VLANs.
- Troubleshooting skills: ability to analyze call logs and resolve issues.
- Communication security: setting up firewalls, protection against DDoS attacks, data encryption.
